Unavoidable / Unforseeable Circumstances:
- Some touch-up work may be required on baseboards and walls after installation.
Our installers will make their absolute best efforts to leave these in the condition
in which they were found. However, due to the stiff, stubborn, and rough nature
of some floor coverings, some scratching and scraping may occur despite our best efforts.
- It is not the responsibility of Harris Floor Covering to fix squeaky subfloors and/or
wall structures. If desired (and not too extensive), our installers can attempt to
remedy squeaks. However, it is ultimately the responsibility of the
contractor/homeowner to ensure a stable substrate.
- No home has perfectly straight/square walls in all areas. Considering this, it is
impossible for floor coverings with a pattern to line up perfectly with every
wall/threshold.
- In most cases, subfloor imperfections and/or damage will require extra work to
correct. This kind of work can ONLY be accurately determined once the existing
floor covering is removed.
- Running wires underneath floor covering can damage the wires and the floor
covering, thus voiding the warranties. Considering this, Harris Floor Covering
does not provide this service.
- If your existing floor covering has quarter-round or shoemolding installed on it,
we cannot be responsible for any moldings breaking when they are removed or
if a new floor is installed around them.
- If necessary, our installers will remove and reset interior doors during the installation process. However, if the new floor covering is higher/thicker than the existing floor covering, prevent proper opening or closing, they cannot cut the doors to fit.
This is the work of an experienced carpenter.
- Your new floor covering may be thinner/lower than your existing floor covering. Considering this, we are not responsible for gaps under baseboards and door jambs. Gaps can also occur in new construction if the subfloor has irregularities.
